When preparing a synopsis it is important to tell the publisher just who will be reading your book.
If it’s a kid’s book then please, please include the target age group. No matter what you feel about the aging of kid’s books, the industry recognises the following groups.
- Under 7
- 7-9
- 9-12
- Teen
Pick one of these and then pitch your synopsis at that group. When you are a rich and famous children’s writer you can fight the system from within until then it pays to play the game.
