How writers can use the internet

If Web 1.0 was linked sites and Web 2.0 was social media, then Web 2.5 is the use of social media to develop a web platform. Chris Brogan is a commentator on the wed and publishing and in this embedded video he talks in detail about how writers and publishers can utilise the internet.

In essence he suggests that a writer needs a Homebase. This is a steady site that acts as a repository for the writers work and offers pointers to Outposts. It is these Outposts that make the difference. Outposts of social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter on which the writer can develop conversation and form relationships that will ultimately lead to sales.
